The world of cosmetic surgery and treatments is ever-evolving, and the same is true with how we treat wrinkles. At Dallas Medical Skin Solutions, we offer traditional wrinkle relaxer injections, such as BOTOX® and Dysport®, but we also know that implementing a combination of the different medications can be very effective for different areas of the face. Our team of Nurse Injectors, under the guidance of our board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Jay Burns, does their best to inject patients with artistry and precision, and keep abreast of current trends on emerging wrinkle relaxers and best practices.
Men and women alike want the transformative rejuvenation of wrinkle relaxers, and many see excellent results without having plastic surgery. Your aging skin may need a boost with injectable neurotoxins into the forehead wrinkles, vertical frown lines (also known as the "11's"), crow's feet, and also for conditions to help with excessive sweating. We offer consultations at Dallas Medical Skin Solutions for patients ready to defy aging, and create a smooth facial experience with wrinkle relaxers.
Are you a candidate?
The good news about using wrinkle relaxers to soften and decrease facial lines and wrinkles is that many patients are great candidates for this treatment (as early as in their late 20's for wrinkle prevention). We book injections routinely for men and women, commonly around the age of 30 – 65 (and older) for skin rejuvenation. Candidates are also often:
- In good health
- Do not have allergic reactions to the medication
- Not ready to have an invasive procedure
- Need medical injections of neurotoxins to stop excessive sweating
- Desire to have youthful, better-looking facial skin
During Your Injections
Once you have consulted with our team about facial wrinkles, and created a treatment plan based on needs and medication goals, we will provide you with the Food and Drug Administration-approved and effective wrinkle relaxers in our office via syringe. We will do our best to keep your appointment time brief, about 15 – 30 minutes, on your way to smoother skin. We will mark your skin with ink to pinpoint the exact area to be injected. Of course, each patient is different, and can require more injections at different depths and quantities, and we strive to bring you optimal results without making your face expressionless.
Wrinkle Relaxer REcovery
Once you have been injected with the wrinkle relaxers, you may feel slightly swollen and see redness at the injection sites, which is normal. The shots are not painful, but some report a little discomfort that can be remedied with an ice pack. You can go about your day as you normally would, but we suggest that you recover for a few hours, not participate in strenuous exercise, and keep your head elevated for 4 – 6 hours. When you use a combination of medications, the results may take longer to show themselves in some areas. Don't worry if you don't see results right away. It may take 2 – 10 days to see your beautiful, rejuvenated skin. We ask that you book your follow-up appointment in 3 – 4 months for continuous results.
